Induction Ceremony & Aquaintance Party 2005


The Chemical Society, the department based organization of chemistry majors, held its Acquaintance Party and Induction Ceremony last August 24, 2005, 4:00 pm at the Maceda Auditorium. It was participated by both the BSCT and the BSE-Chemistry majors from second year to fourth year. Dr. Lolita M. Salmorin, the head of the Department of Physical Sciences, gave her opening remarks as she welcomes the new batch of chemistry majors. Dr. Evangeline F. Golla, the dean of the College of Science, led the induction ceremony of the newly elected officers. Dr. Rebecca C. Nueva España, the university registrar, Prof. Nelson Garcia, the ChemSoc adviser, Prof. Vic Marie I. Camacho, Prof. Crisanta A. Ocampo, Prof. Rosalie C. Reyes, Prof. Elizabeth R. Rivera, Prof. Adolf P. Roque, and Prof. Cromwell Valeriano attended the celebration also. The acquaintance party for the II-24 BSE-Chemistry was held after the induction ceremony. MISSION
PNU-ChemSoc will be a proactive organization that shall promote the advancement and application of science in general and chemistry in particular to Filipino students through its various projects and activities aimed towards increased competence in chemistry, scientific excellence, and socio-cultural awareness.

VISION
PNU-ChemSoc envisions a strong and dynamic student organization of self-directing and conscientious Filipino chemistry students committed to upholding excellence in the study and application of chemistry which is responsive to the needs of the nation.

objectives

PNU-ChemSoc has the following objectives:
1. to develop camaraderie among members of the society;
2. to encourage academic, social, spiritual and emotional growth to every member;
3. to expose the members to different activities of the academe;
4. to promote chemistry education by encouraging students to take interest in chemistry;
5. to enhance the awareness of the members to issues directly affecting the scientific orb; and
6. to promote the significance of chemistry in daily living.
